My first trip to Monki

Monki is a store that most bloggers rave about (especially those based in London) but for whatever reason I never bought anything from there, until I decided to pop over to their Carnaby Street store after work one Friday evening. I'd spotted a few things I liked the look of on their site, and was keen to check them out in real life...

The store itself is very well dressed, you can tell they've made a real effort to get the right vibe - which is something that surprised me given the low priced clothes they sell. There are a lot of similarly priced high street stores that could learn a lot from the effort Monki puts into their branding and image.

The first thing I bought was this gorgeous blue and white print blouse. I first spied this on Estee in her video HERE and decided it would be a perfect addition to my wardrobe! I wear blouses like this one to work quite a lot, but I think this design is also ideal for casual wear. This was only £20 (HERE). I was super impressed with the fabric of this shirt, it's really soft and sheer and not made from the cheaper sheer material you often find it high street shops.

This is my second purchase - another blouse! I do love Monki's range of blouses - because they're priced at £20-30 they're so much more affordable in comparison to similar offerings from places like Zara and Topshop. Again, I thought this would be versatile enough to wear during the week for work and also on weekends, and I love the mint green colour. Pastels will be a staple in my wardrobe for Spring and Summer, so this should get a lot of wear. This blouse is made from the cheap sheer material I mentioned, but I don't mind so much as it's such a bargain at £20. HERE.

What do you think of my purchases? Are you a fan of Monki?
