Kiko Milan Cosmetics - eyeshadows

Even though I bought these eyeshadows way back in JULY when I was in Venice, for whatever reason I haven't gotten around to reviewing them til now! I'm sorry!
I bought three shadows, for 3 Euros each:
A gorgeous dark brown, shade 123.
 A copper-y golden brown, shade 124.
And a lovely pearly white, shade 168.
Here are the shadows swatched on my forearm, in the opposite order (top>bottom 168, 124, 123). The darkest brown (123) is very deep and nutty, whereas the lighter shade (124) has golden undertones and appears much more metallic on the skin. the while is quite shimmery but still gives good pigmentation, you just need to build the colour on the skin. It's great for using in a smoky eye look for when you don't want to be too dramatic.

The quality of the eyeshadows is absolutely brilliant, they're ridiculously pigmented so you barely need any product on your brush at all. They're smooth and relatively creamy to apply and don't crease much. The packaging is very stylish for such a cheap, drugstore-style brand (reminiscent of MUA eyeshadows perhaps?!) and you do get quite a lot of eyeshadow in one little pot! Overall I'm very very impressed with the value for money here, and will be heading out to the new Kiko Milan store in the Westfield centre to check out what other bargains are on offer here in the UK! Linky!

Are you brave enough to let me see your peacock?

I popped to Peacocks a few weeks ago when my bestie was staying with me, and she kindly let me use her NUS card to get discount on the following little gems:
This rust-coloured bobbly cable knit jumper is adorable! I love the colour, the fit, the bobble detailing - its perfect! And at only £20 I couldn't resist buying it! Of course the sale is on now so it's much cheaper, no reason not to snap it up! Linky!
I'd been after some new brogues for a while, as the ones I bought from Primark turned out to be a little too small. It was love at first sight when I saw these beauties! They're such a gorgeous colour and the fake suede fabric is really good quality, they look much more expensive than the £16 I paid for them! Again, they're in the sale now.. sigh. Linky!
Finally these gorgeous black wedge shoe boots are my fave - they're just so simple and versatile but the massive chunky heel adds a bit of edge to any outfit! They were £30 when I bought them, but now appear to have disappeared from the Peacocks website so maybe they sold out... *shrugs* All I know is they look cracking with skinnies or opaque tights and a tea dress thrown on for a last minute pub visit!

Fabulous Nails #8

As promised, I'm trying to wear more adventurous colours at work and this week I tried out a new polish I hadn't worn since purchase! It's elf's Mod Mauve #D17!
I absolutely adore the colour of this on the nails! Its so different to anything else I own but chic enough for work! Its a bit thin, like other elf polishes I've tried, and needed 3 coats to get this look. I was slightly disappointed that by the third day it had chipped pretty badly, but that might be more down to the poor condition of my nails than the polish itself.

I got plenty of compliments whilst wearing it and I really do adore the colour! At only £1.50 a pop you can't really go wrong, even if it isn't the best quality I've ever seen! Linky!

Dream Product: Palmers Cocoa Butter

I've definitely in the swing of sharing my favourite all time products with you! Let me introduce you to my third dream product - Palmers Cocoa Butter.
I use this stuff every day on my arms to make them smooth (I suffer from bumps on the back of the tops of my arms if I don't exfoliate and moisturise often enough), and also on my legs after shaving! The smell is absolutely divine (one of my favourite smells in the world!) and I love how it subtley stays around all day if you're wearing it! It makes my skin smoother than anything else I've tried and I adore how you can buy it in these massive bottles with a pump action for ease of use! I have been using this for about 6 years now and it's gonna take something pretty groundbreaking for me to stop!

£5.30 for 400ml, which is incredible value as I've been using mine for 4 months now and I'm not even a quarter of the way through! Linky!

Don't forget to check out my BLOG SALE if you'd like some bargain nail polishes!

Fabulous Nails #7

Apologies for not doing a nail post for a good month or so! I've been working and haven't been able to be so ambitious with my nails but I realised its getting me down (how sad!) so I'm revolutionising the legal profession starting with some fabulous nails! Watch this space for more pushing the boundaries - everyone else wears nothing/French manicure/something similar to Mushroom by Barry M (I'm guilty of this sin too).
If you follow me on Twitter (and if you don't, please do!) you'll have read my tweet about an accidental purchase of some Natural Collection nail varnish on my lunch break. This is it! Possibly the most difficult to photograph colour EVER (its called Topaz and is topaz-coloured, so a very shimmery light blue/turquoise silvery colour)
It's quite thin but builds well - I used 3 coats for this. It looks much more plain silver on the nail which I was super disappointed by - if I'd wanted silver nails I would have used my silver polish!! Grr! Overall a nice colour, nice application and very cheap (£1.89 from Boots) but just not what I was hoping for.
I'm selling a few nail varnishes over at my BLOG SALE page! Check it out!

I Want Never Gets... Party Dresses

ASOS have some absolutely gorgeous party dresses in at the moment!
I adore the colour of this red/pink lace dress! I think it would look great on most skintones and the cut would flatter most shapes too! Investment piece for winter as you could easily wear this with or without opaque tights. £65 Linky!
This long sleeved sheer dress is stunning, and would be ideal for a special occasion (birthdays, Christmas or even NYE!) The shape wouldn't suit me which is a shame as I think it's a really special dress. £60 Linky!
Now this peterpan collar sheer heart mesh bust dress is my favourite of the lot. It's got so much personality but isn't too 'out there' and is timeless so will last season after season. This might be my NYE dress, or if I can wait I'll probably end up buying it in the Jan sales. I love love love it! £55 Linky!
The colour of this one shouldered dress is delicious, but I think it would only really suit darker skintones (sob). £55 Linky!
I think this sheer stripe dress does not look like an ASOS dress! It's so unique, I think it looks more designer than high street! I love it but have no idea what type of event I could ever wear it out to. £30 in the sale! Linky!

BLOG SALE!

So I decided to go ahead and do a blog sale! Read on if you'd like to purchase some pretty nail polish!
You all know I'm a bit of a nail varnish junkie (I dread to think how many I've accumulated... I daren't count!) but I have some that I never wear and have only worn once, so these 5 little beauties are looking for new homes:
 Barry M Instant Nail Effects 10ml in blue 315 - £2.50 - used once.
Nails Inc 10ml Elizabeth Street - £2.00 - used once.
 Barry M 10ml Red Glitter 150 - £2.00 - used once.
Sleek 10ml Bare 35 - £2.00 - used once.
O.P.I. 15ml Nail Envy Dry & Brittle Nails - £4.00 - used several times (see photo above showing usage).

All the polishes above are available to purchase through Paypal, just click through below. Postage is flat rate £1.00 but I will only ship to UK addresses so please don't buy unless you're located in the UK. Provide your postal address during checkout or I won't know who to post to!

Pick one

This is my first blog sale and I'm starting small and simple. If it goes well I will consider selling more polishes and shipping internationally, but for now I'm sticking to UK only.
Thank you!

The art of forward planning

It's no longer available to buy in stores, and so I don't have a link, but I've been so excited about winter coming I really wanted to share it with you:
This is my new winter coat! I bought it from Dorothy Perkins in the January sales for £20! Bargain of the century! I've been lusting after duffel coats for years but never saw one that was perfect/I could afford, until this one! I don't generally 'do' coats with hoods but I'm super happy this one has one, and I think the faux fur and little pom poms are so cute and quirky! And the icing on the cake - it's a size 6! Amazing! Ego boost every time I put it on!
Have you bought yourself a new winter coat yet this year?

Body Shop Macadamia Straightening Balm

It's taken me a while but I've finally got around to reviewing this little beauty - I bought it as part of my mega haul from the Body Shop a while ago.
I currently have a cropped pixie style hair cut that I blow dry straight every morning (I have curly hair naturally), and I use this before blow drying. It smells AMAZING, it's lovely and creamy, you don't need to use much, and I think it actually works! I'm really impressed, it feels like its good and conditioning for my hair but also protects it from the heat of my hairdryer. And the lovely smell remains for the whole day too!
At only £7 I think its a bargain - I've been using mine for a month now and still have tonnes left! Linky!

Oops...

Despite buying some new boots only a few days ago... I accidentally bought these little boots from Primark while I was back home!
I've been looking for some cheap, simple black ankle boots for AGES (literally about a year) so when I saw these I literally could not stop myself buying them! They're perfect! And at only £10 I could justifty buying them despite the fact I work 5 days out of 7 and these are definitely not work shoes! Oops!

Please forgive me

Hello wonderful you [all]! I just wanted to take a moment to apologise for the lack of an 'I Want Never Gets...' post yesterday. Do not fret - I have not forgotten about little Bee's Knees, but unfortunately the real world has been pretty tough going this week and I didn't have the time/energy/enthusiasm to post, so please forgive me!
I still adore you all and promise I won't let things slip again! Despite currently only having £40 to my name (a week til payday, yay!) I managed to buy a few bits and bobs recently that I'll be sharing with you at the weekend, and I'm also currently debating whether to do a blog sale of nail varnish and/or a giveaway! Stay tuned for more info soon! (and COMMENT if you'd be interested in a blog sale!)
In the meantime, enjoy this lovely Rob Ryan print - I am literally obsessed with him at the mo - his wonderful, romantic and optimistic prints are getting me through the long days and cold nights! Linky!

My Boots

As a shoe gal, when winter comes around I am always super excited to see the high street's latest offering of boots! Here are two pairs I've invested in already, hopefully I'll be able to resist buying more..
When I received the H&M AW11 catalogue I immediately turned over the pages with these little beauties on! I don't have any 'proper' brown boots so I was really excited to buy these, I think they'll look equally lovely teamed with blue skinnies or a cute dress and tights! Only £29.99 Linky!
Perhaps a little more out there, these moccasin-style fringed boots were a bit of an impulse buy but at £14.99 I couldn't resist! Also from H&M, I've already worn them out with tights and a teadress, I'm smitten!

Dream Product: Boots Cleansing Wipes

Welcome to the second instalment of my new Dream Products series!
This week I'm posting about these wonderful Boots Cleansing Wipes (in cucumber fragrance). I have been using these wipes for around TEN YEARS now and I would never use any other brand! They are super cheap (£2.03 per pack but they're usually on offer 3 for £3 or 3 for 2) and actually WORK! I don't use them every day but I do use them when I get in after a night out and can't be bothered properly cleansing! They take off all my make up and leave my skin feeling gorgeous, clean and fresh! What more could you want in a wipe?! Linky!

Bowie

Words cannot express how I feel about this bag - hence starting the post with a photo! Meet Bowie!!!
He's amazing - I've been lusting after him for a whole year! He's a black PU bowling bag by Mischa Barton, I bought him from ASOS for £45 but I think I got the last one as he's not on the site anymore! Click here for something similar though!
He's just big enough to take home when I'm heading back to Leeds for the weekend, and has a studded silver star print on the front along with a gorgeous purple lining and lots of silver accents! PERFECTION! <3

I Want Never Gets... Blazers

2011 is definitely my year of the blazer, I'm hooked! Here are a few of my faves from ASOS:
This tuxedo-style blazer is absolutely gorgeous, I love the contrast with the black lapels! It's a bit steep at £75 but would be an investment to any work wardrobe! Linky!
Very simple but very stylish, this is another tux-inspired style and I love it! Expensive at £65 but this blazer is so versatile you could easily dress it up or down for formal or casual events. Linky!
This sheer blazer is beautiful and reminds me of Stella McCartney's collection - the monochrome style would fit right in with her new collection. It's a bit of a bargain at £35 too! Linky!
Are you a blazer fan? Where is your favourite blazer from?

Shoe Fanatic

Despite already having 7 pairs of work shoes (even though there are only 5 working days in the week, woops!), I couldn't resist purchasing 3 more when I found myself in New Look on Oxford St with my sister...
How cute are these teal courts?! They look great with a simple work outfit - maybe a black shift or a pencil skirt and white shirt, injecting a little bit of personality and colour! Only £19.99
These little brown shoe boots are SO comfy and practical, I have no regrets buying them! I've had so many compliments on them since purchase, and at only £19.99 I think they were a bargain as they definitely don't look like high street shoes!
I love these little brogue-style courts! They're so cute and quirky, and super comfy as the heel is only an inch or so high! Again I think they were a good investment as they don't look high street quality, and so many people have commented on them! Only £19.99 Linky!

E.L.F. mega haul #5 - HD powder

After reading rave review after rave review of the E.L.F. HD Powder I couldn't resist adding it to my recent mega order! At £6 I thought it was worth a try to see if I could replace my usual base/finishing powder with it (click here to read my post on what I use in my daily make up routine), as my Lily Lolo matte powder retails at ~£12! Here is a link to the High Definition Powder on the E.L.F. website.
I was impressed by the packaging of the powder when I opened up my box - it comes in a sophisticated looking black square tub and is quite big! I'm not sure I expected to receive so much product for my money! So good first impressions..
Inside the pot you get a pretty standard powder filter & a cute little face puff! Again, I was impressed by the appearance of the product as I hadn't really expected the packaging to be so good.
Now for the negatives - as you can see from the pic above, once you peel off the plastic sticker that keeps the powder safe in transit, it starts to get everywhere! As someone who already uses powder on a daily basis, I am used to having to brush myself off on a morning after doing my make up, but for some reason the HD powder is a lot messier and harder to keep in the tub. Once you actually get it on your face it is a great product and makes your skin feel so much smoother and matte, however I didn't intend to use this on its own, instead using it under my mineral foundation as a base. For that purpose it didn't work as well as the Flawless Matte Finishing Powder I already own, by Lily Lolo
I would still recommend the product to people who are just looking for a loose powder to soak up oil and give their skin a matte finish, without putting anything on top. It does feel great on the skin, and it's actually brilliant value for money but sadly it doesn't suit my purpose and just doesn't match up to the product I already use!
