B. Pure Micellar Water

Hi guys! So today's review is about a product I have been using now for almost 3 months! I always find with skincare products that you need to have used them for quite a while before giving a meaningful review, so here goes!

This is the B. Pure Micellar Water, which first feature in my skincare haul HERE and then it even made it into my May favourites HERE. I'm sure you can already guess that this is going to be a positive review!

This is the first micellar water I've tried - it's a product I've heard plenty about (as has anyone who reads beauty blogs), specifically the Bioderma one. However when the B. range was launched as a cruelty free brand at Superdrug and I spotted a micellar water I knew I had to pick it up to try first. I wasn't quite sure how to use this at first because I'll admit that aside from eye make up, I never used to remove my make up before cleansing. SHOCK HORROR. No really. As a relative newbie to the world of make up (I only started wearing things like foundation and blush at the ripe old age of 21), I am also pretty new to the skincare rituals you need to remove it and keep your skin healthy.

So I started using this to remove the make up on my face, after using an eye make up remover to get rid of my eye make up. I squirt a little bit onto a cotton wool pad and lightly skim over my skin allowing the magical micellar water to lift off my make up without really having to scrub. I go over again with a new pad and then potter off to cleanse and brush my teeth! Although it's a new step in my before-bed routine, it's not a time consuming one and I have noticed a real change in my skin since I started properly removing my make up.

The B. Micellar Water has been a real saviour for me - although I can't give a completely comprehensive review because it's my first micellar water, I can say that it's a light and easy product to use, even on my somewhat sensitive skin. Although it does leave some residue on your skin that's not a problem for me because I cleanse almost immediately afterwards. It does have a slightly strange smell to it but that doesn't bother me either. And for only £4.99 compared to some of the more expensive micellar waters available, I would definitely recommend you give it a go if you're intrigued by the concept!

You can buy the B. Pure Micellar Water for £4.99 from Superdrug online HERE or in your local store.

Have you tried any micellar waters before? What do you think about them?

Superdrug Spring Haul - feat. Palmer's, Barry M & more!

Before I started on my May spending ban, I popped into Superdrug and ended up picking out quite a few products! I managed to justify this to myself as almost everything I bought was on offer, and some of the items are already staples in my daily routine. After popping in to pick up the Palmer's Moisturising Body Oil I left with a much lighter purse, oops!

I am a massive fan of the Palmer's Cocoa Butter and have been using it religiously for years. When I was perusing the Superdrug website and spotted a body oil by Palmer's, I knew I had to have it! As Palmer's products were on offer at the time (3 for the price of 2) I bought two oils and one gradual tanner, as recommended by a number of beauty bloggers! The oil is £5.09 from Superdrug HERE, and the gradual tanner is £5.35 HERE.

I haven't tried anything by NYC before but when I saw these Applelicious Glossy Lip Balms I just couldn't resist popping them in my basket, especially as they were on two for £3 at the time! They retail for £2.49 each and you can get them from Superdrug HERE and HERE.

The new Barry M Nail Art Pens were going to wind up in my collection at some point, so I bought them sooner rather than later and they were 3 for the price of 2! They're £4.99 each and as you can see, I bought every colour except pink! HERE

Finally I picked up the Collection Cream Puff lip cream in shade Fairy Cake. I had been trying to track down this product for weeks when I spotted it in the Superdrug close to where my Mum lives, so I snapped it up! I'm excited to try this hyped up lip cream, which retails for £2.99. You can buy it in store at Superdrug or online from Boots HERE.

Have you bought any beauty bits recently? Which is your favourite of my purchases?

Accidental Superdrug Haul - feat Rimmel & MUA

Wow, another haul post, how original. What can I say, I've been haulin' a lot lately! When I was back home for a week of R&R with my family I ended up spending money quite thoughtlessly, justifying it each time by telling myself "this is my holiday this year, it's cheaper than going abroad". I'm not so sure about that now I've surveyed the damage to my credit card, but still. Here's a small haul that resulted from a random stop at Superdrug..

I picked up two MUA items, despite vowing never to give them my money again. I would say that I'm weak-willed, but I'm not (being vegan requires a strong will!) I'm just a sucker for a promotional offer! The MUA Undress Me Too eyeshadow palette was on offer for £3, and the MUA Undress Your Skin Illuminating Foundation was on offer for £3 (HERE). Stay tuned for reviews. You can buy these products online via MUA (HERE and HERE) or instore at Superdrug.

I also picked up these three Rimmel nail varnishes - now, I know what you're thinking: more nail varnish?! I really do not need any more polishes to add to my collection, but I really wanted to get the Blue Eyed Girl polish after spying it on someone's nails, and I love the Precious Stones I got for my birthday (Diamond Dust - post HERE) and wanted to try the red one too!

These are the shades I picked up - the Cocktail Colour polish in Hawaiian Punch was a total random impulse buy, as they were on 3 for the price of 2 I had to get another item to get the offer.  The Cocktail Colour is available for £3.99 (HERE), the Precious Stones is £3.99 (HERE) and the 60 seconds is £3.69 (HERE).

Have you made any accidental purchases recently?

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

Before launching into today's post, I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Red Nose Day! I've been wearing my nose around the house for a while already, have you got yours?

As a relative newbie to the Revlon brand (I've tried a Lip Butter and a couple of nail varnishes) I was excited to try the new Nearly Naked Foundation when it popped into stores recently. I have to admit, this is my first liquid foundation - in fact I've only ever used mineral powders before so I was a little anxious about maybe looking like I had make up caked on, but I was happily wrong!

I had heard only great things about this foundation before I tried it - that it was light/medium coverage (I don't think I'm a full coverage kind of gal...) that it made your skin look natural but better, and that it gave you a glow. So far so good!

A lot of people seemed put off or disappointed at the lack of a pump for this product - this isn't something that worried me and it hasn't been an issue at all. I just pour a little onto the back of my hand and then use my fingers or a brush to apply onto my face. It's not so runny that you will end up with it halfway down your arm, so don't worry.

Of course I went for the fairest shade, Ivory, which didn't seem to be a perfect match at first glance in the shop (I bought this from Superdrug as it's £2 off at the moment). However once I blended it into my skin it was such a good match I was astonished! I bought it immediately and have been wearing it every day since.

This is the foundation blended into the back of my hand - it's obvious that it's an amazing match as you can't see it! I am really really happy I bought this foundation - as a first timer when it comes to liquids I have found this to be light, it doesn't suffocate my skin, it makes the rest of my make up last longer and it looks fresh even 14 hours after applying! I cannot believe my face when I use this foundation - I know this sounds ridiculous but I just look so much better! This is like me with 12 hours sleep, totally hydrated and with a bit of a tan - glowy but perfectly natural.

I am definitely a convert and can see this being a staple in my make up routine for a long long time. This is so light it won't be an issue in the summer which means I will be able to use it all year round - win! The price is also pretty awesome - I paid £6.99 for this from Superdrug with their £2 off promotion, but even at full price it's a mere £8.99 which in comparison to other natural effect foundations is a complete bargain. Have you tried this foundation yet? Are you tempted to?

B. Skincare Haul

Another little haul post from my spends last week.. I am now back on the wagon after breaking my spending ban. I didn't go crazy, I only bought a Revlon foundation, some Models Own polishes (which were paid for with Boots points so I'm not sure they count), a couple of cheap bits from H&M and the B. brand haul I'm posting about today. In total I don't think I spent more than £40, so I can definitely live with myself, and I'm committed to lasting for the rest of my spending ban so this will hopefully be the last haul post for a while..

I expect by now you will have heard of the new brand launched by Superdrug - B. I only heard about this brand after I'd already purchased one of their make up products - the eyebrow kit which I reviewed earlier this week. But after reading up on it I was really keen to try some pieces, especially from the cruelty-free skincare range! The Micellar Water was top of my wishlist, and because they had an free gift with purchase I couldn't resist picking up the B. Clean Melting Gel Cleanser too!

I like the packaging of these products - it's simple, minimalistic and clean, which is spot on for skincare. Although these are around the average price point for drugstore skincare I much prefer the way they are marketed in comparison to other similarly priced products - for example I got the pretty cardboard bag pictured above when I made my purchase which makes the brand feel a little more high end.I think Superdrug are marketing this new brand to a slightly older age range with more discerning tastes, which is reflected in their branding.

I picked up the Micellar Water and the Melting Gel Cleanser, £4.99 and £6.99 respectively. I am really intrigued to try both of these products as they seem unlike anything I've used before. The melting gel cleanser sounds especially interesting! You can buy these instore at Superdrug  or online HERE and HERE. I will be trying these soon and posting reviews in a couple of weeks' time.

Since I spent more than £10 on the B. range I got a free gift with my purchase - this 'Introduction to B.' kit which sounded really good, on paper. When I got this home and opened it up I was quite disappointed to find only one full sized product (the eyeshadow, I think is full sized) and then four other mini samples. You get a mini (and I mean tiny) B. B Cream (Light), B. Vitalised Eye Cream, B. Radiant Rejuvenating Serum, and the world's smallest lipstick (see more below). You also get a  voucher for £2 off the range when you spend more than £10 before the middle of April.

This is the B. Stunning Eye Shimmer in shade Golden Sand. I am not too keen on this colour, I'm not sure if I've actually worn gold eye shadow in the past 5 years ever but I guess it's worth a try! I might use this on nights out, and will be testing it out to review soon. I was happy with the size of this product at least.

And here is the world's smallest lipstick, the B. Rich Lipstick in Rose Quartz. I honest could not believe my eyes when I pulled this out - I've never seen anything so small! It is a bit of a joke really, and I would have much preferred a full sized lipstick as this is so small I didn't dare to swatch it just for the purposes of this post because I would have used too much of the product up! I guess looking at it as a whole the free gift is a nice gesture, but I can't help being disappointed by the size of the products. I'm never going to use the make up bag so it's a bit pointless.

Overall I'm excited to try these unique (for their price range) skincare products, and I will try out everything I received free and report back in due course. I really wouldn't recommend buying from the B. range with the sole goal of receiving the free gift as, in my opinion, unless you're mad keen on gold eyeshadow it's really not worth it.

Have you tried anything from the B. range at Superdrug yet? How have you found it?

B. Groomed Eyebrow Kit (blonde)

When I changed my hair colour a little while ago (I'm strawberry blonde-ish, previously brunette) I was faced with the mission of finding an eyebrow pencil to match my new hair. I had intended to head to the Mac counter in Brixton's Morleys but it just so happened on the day they were closed for stock taking so I desperately ran into Superdrug  hoping to find something to tide me over. I picked up a Collection eyebrow pencil (which is soon to be featured in a Slated post, so watch this space!) and the B. Groomed Eyebrow Kit in blonde. I had no idea at the time that B. was a new brand from Superdrug, I was blind with desperation and hoped it would be a match to my hair!

When I got it home I was so relieved to find it was a perfect match! And what I had originally thought was an eyebrow pencil was actually two ended and had a wax pencil at the other end! Incredible. I have been using this brow kit ever since and I love it! I am now curious to try the rest of the B. make up range (and the skincare, which I will post about on Thursday..) as I have been bowled over by the quality of this little £4.19 gem!

For the price the quality is really excellent - the pencil is the perfect softness for a brow pencil to give good, natural looking colour but without being so soft that the colour comes out really heavy. I love the brow brush, which I have used because it's so convenient! And the wax is really handy too, I don't often need to use this but it's nice to have on days when my brows are a little on the unruly side. And these three functions mean this is incredible value - for the same price other drugstore brands are only offering pencils.

I should probably mention that I also really like the B. brand and it's brand values - the cruelty free thing is obviously a big winner for me but I love how it's marketed as almost high-end but with a very affordable price point. And if the rest of the range is as good value as this, it's sure to be a winner!

Have you tried anything from the B. range yet? This eyebrow kit retails for £4.19 in Superdrug stores, and online HERE.
