Autumn Primark Haul

Hi everyone! Today's post is a little overdue - I lost control in Primark a couple of weekends ago and bought a few bits and pieces that I'm sure will be staples in my autumn wardrobe..

First up is this incredible statement spiked necklace. This necklace has so much going on it definitely needs to be worn with an understated jumper or top, but it's pretty amazing and adds that little extra something to most outfits! I think this was about £4 which is ridiculously cheap compared to other high street stores (TOPSHOP!)

Another necklace, this one is slightly more toned down but still adds a particular edge to a plain oversized jumper (i.e. all I ever wear in the winter). It has three different shades of metal which I love because mixing metals is one of my favourite ways to wear jewellery and I can tell I'm going to get a lot of wear out of this all year around. Again I think this was around the £4 mark.

On to oversized jumpers, I bought the big black fluffy Primark cardigan that pretty much everyone owns a couple of months ago and I love it! I wear it far too much and so when I spotted this jumper, my cardigan's fairer and snugglier sister, I couldn't resist popping it in my basket! I don't often wear white/cream but the texture of this jumper is amazing and it's so soft and comfortable on. I've been wearing this with a black skirt and polka dot tights, with one of the statement necklaces I bought worn over the top. It's simple but bang on trend and oh so warm and snuggly for those colder autumn days! Plus this was only £10 which is CHEAP.

By far my favourite jumper already, this royal blue beauty drew me to it like a magnet when I saw it in the shop! It's actually got full length sleeves but I find rolling them up gives it a nicer shape and a bit of structure. This is quite a fitted jumper with a round neck, which I'm not so keen on, but worn with some patterned leggings and statement boots it looks great! And the best thing? This was only £8 - SO much cheaper than similar jumpers I've seen on the high street.

On to shoes and statement boots! I spotted these gorgeous lace up boots absolutely ages ago but they didn't have them in my size. I kept checking back at my local Primark but after a couple of weeks I gave up hope. And then I saw them in a size 6 - bear in mind that I'm usually a size 4 or a 5 in boots (space for socks!) - so I picked up some insoles and they fit fine! The insoles actually make them even more comfortable. These are by far the comfiest heeled boots I own and I've worn them loads already. They're definitely worth the wait, and the £18 I paid for them!

Last but not least are these cut out flats - I saw some very similar to these in Topshop but when on closer inspection I discovered the Topshop ones were made from leather I was heartbroken! So imagine my delight finding these in Primark! I think these were £8 or £10 which is far cheaper than the Topshop alternatives. I've worn these already to a gig with black frill top socks, tights and a black jersey dress and leather jacket. They're surprisingly comfy and sturdy to wear and I'm looking forward to styling them in all sorts of different ways over the autumn months.

ASOS Sale Haul

Hi guys! Today I'm sharing with you some of my recent ASOS sale purchases (and by 'recent' I mean these things arrived yesterday!) I haven't done very much clothes shopping in the past 6 months because I've been so preoccupied with moving house and buying things for my new house, so I was in desperate need of some new additions to my casual wardrobe!

The whole reason I placed my order with ASOS in the first place was for these jeans. Living with two excitable and playful kittens has its drawbacks, especially for my skinny jean collection! They have ravaged two pairs so far which meant these Ridley bargains were an essential purchase. Only £14 reduced down from £35, they're a perfect snug fit and I love the dip-dye effect. Link HERE.

Cold shoulder jumpers have sort of been and gone already, but I never got on board with the trend. Until now - a little late in the day but this simple oversized grey sweatshirt is by Glamorous but available in the ASOS sale for a mere £11.50 (reduced from £26) and will be great for lazing around on weekends once autumn hits. Link HERE.

I wasn't massively keen on the acidic tone of this green vest top when I opened it up (especially because it's so creased!) but once I tried it on and admired the nice fitting and pretty studs I was sold. Primarily because it was only £9.50 down from £16 and will look great with jeans and a leather jacket. Link HERE.

Another simple vest top, this Vila top was only £10 and I can see it being a staple in my casual wardrobe in autumn, winter and in the warmer months too. It's a lovely fit and the crew neck is a bit different to other vests I own. Link HERE.

Another grey sweatshirt - how exciting(!) This basic grey sweater is the nicest fit and looks so flattering on! I find it tricky to buy jumpers that flatter my shape as I'm quite top heavy, so when I tried this on and it was the perfect fit I had to keep it! And it's only £6.50 - link HERE.

By far my prettiest purchase, this gorgeous sheer 3/4 sleeve blouse is absolutely adorable and will be great for my work wardrobe. When I saw it was reduced to £10 down from £32 I couldn't resist buying it and I'm so glad because it's very simple but so chic. Link HERE.

As you can see I invested in quite a few basic tops - I really don't have that many tops in my wardrobe and struggle to find things to wear on the weekend! I bought this slogan baseball tee quite randomly but found it was actually the best fitting baseball tee out of the three I ordered, so it's a definite keeper. £8 reduced from £18 HERE.

Last but by no means least is this gorgeous beige trench coat. I have a lovely little red trench that I've owned for about 10 years and wear to death. I have been keeping an eye out for a more work appropriate version in a neutral shade for a really long time. I can't really pull off double breasted jackets because as I said, I'm top heavy and look ridiculous with any added bulk in that area, and it's much harder than you'd think to find a trench coat that's not double breasted! When I spotted this belted beauty I had to have it, and it fits like a dream. So happy that my search is over, especially because this was a mere £33 reduced in the sale. Link HERE.

What do you think of my sale bargains? Have you had any ASOS splurges recently?

Leicester Bank Holiday Haul

Hi guys! Happy bank holiday Sunday, I hope you're enjoying the weekend. You may have read my Tuesday Tales post a couple of weeks ago (HERE), where I told you all about my recent trip to Leicester. It involved a little bit of shopping, so I thought today I would share my purchases with you!

This black jersey flippy dress from Topshop was something I umm-ed and ahh-ed about for ages, but when I saw it in the Leicester store I just bought it without thinking. I'm glad I did because it's a very flattering fit, and for only £20 it's something I'm sure I'll get plenty of wear out of. My favourite way to style it so far is with some black polka dot tights. Link HERE.

Whilst in Leicester we also stopped off at Wardrobe - an amazing bargain-filled boutique store which had plenty for me to get excited about! I managed to restrain myself to only a few bargain buys, including this Vero Moda blouse with cute collar detail for only £20!

I also picked up this sheer nautical style Cutie blouse, with its beautiful pearl buttons, for £22. I love this shirt, it's so simple and unique and I always receive compliments when I wear it. I like to wear this for work with tapered trousers and brogues.

I picked up another white Vero Moda blouse from Wardrobe - I love this one! It has the sweetest collar and sheer flower pattern, I have been wearing this for work and for casual too. A firm favourite for Spring already, and only £20!

We also stopped off at Internacionale where I nabbed this basic black jersey skater skirt for £8.

The House of Fraser in Leicester is an outlet store, and whilst I couldn't justify buying big heavy Yankee Candles that I'd have to lug back down to London on the train, I did pick up a few bargain smaller candles which are just as beautifully scented. I think these were £1.04 each!

Last but not least I picked up the June issue of Marie Claire, as it has a couple of Avon freebies in it! If you're a follower of Bee's Knee's you'll know I really rate Avon, and I had to pick up a red lipstick for only £2.50 with Marie Claire!

This is the lipstick, it's a gorgeous summery shade and will receive its own blog post sometime soon!

So that's everything - phew! I didn't intend to pick anything up but I couldn't resist, especially when Wardrobe is such a wonderful place to shop. I definitely recommend Leicester for a day of shopping, it has everything you could possibly want!

How are you spending your bank holiday weekend?

New Look Haul #1

I have been majorly impressed with the offerings from New Look recently. I didn't shop there for a long time because nothing really grabbed me or caught my eye, but lately I've popped in several times and done a bit of online shopping and found some real gems! This is the first of two New Look haul posts - this one is based on items I bought online and the next will be items I bought instore at Westfield Stratford City!

Like most people at the moment, I have been itching to try a pair of Topshop Joni jeans as they have been all over the blogosphere at the moment! I am a huge fan of high waisted jeans, skirts, shorts - I just think it's a flattering fit for me personally. So naturally I tried some Joni jeans as soon as I could... and was incredibly disappointed. I found them to be such an unflattering fit on me, I tried 3 different sizes and none fit right - they were too tight or too baggy, and just made my legs and bum look huge.

When I saw these high waisted blue jeans on the New Look website I just had to try them and see if they are a possible dupe for Joni jeans! I was so pleased! I have a good history with New Look jeans anyway, but these are amazing. They're everything I thought the Joni jeans would be - fitted, flattering and they make me feel really positive about my body image (the opposite of how the Joni jeans made me feel!) And what's more, these are only £19.99! I would definitely recommend trying a pair if you're a fan of high waisted stuff like me! Click!

How pretty is this baby blue chiffon blouse? I'm trying to invest in more pretty collared blouses for work as I think they're a feminine way of looking smart. This one is a gorgeous colour and was only £14 in the sale. What a bargain! Click!

I am a big fan of peplum at the moment, so when I spotted this little monochrome top for £6 in the sale I snapped it up! It fits like a dream, and I adore the cute little 3/4 sleeves. I plan on wearing this to work with a black pencil skirt - simple but chic. Click!

I had seen this blazer a few weeks ago in the Oxford Street store but they didn't have it in my size. I lusted after it for weeks as I think it will be a real staple in my S/S wardrobe - I'll probably throw it on over just about anything to keep from getting cold on days with a breeze. It's nicely fitted, the 3/4 sleeves again really float my boat and at only £24.99 it didn't break the bank. It's bang on trend for this year too as monochrome is set to be everywhere! Click!

Finally, and also in keeping with the monochrome trend, this oversized striped tee isn't something I would usually go for, but I do often find myself wishing I had more basic style tops to pair with jeans or shorts. This is perfect - I think it would look fab tucked into the jeans I bought, or with a pair of shorts on warmer days. It reminds me of the tees you can buy from Topshop as it has skinny fitted sleeves, giving an interesting shape when worn. I was so happy to see this for a mere £7 in the sale! Click!

Have you been shopping more at New Look lately? What do you think of my purchases?
