Good Things Miracle Mattifier Moisturiser

I started using the Good Things exfoliating face wash a good year or so ago and found it served its purpose wonderfully and smelt AMAZING. So when my old Simple moisturiser ran out, I decided to give this mattifying moisturiser a go!
I really like the ethos of the Good Things range - its all very simple, natural, animal-free and everything I've used so far has really worked for my skin. This is no exception! I do suffer from slightly oily/combination skin and have never found a moisturiser that helps this without drying out my skin and leaving blotches (my face can be quite sensitive). Until now. This stuff is superb. You don't have to use a lot of product in order to moisturise your whole face, which means this tube goes a long way. As I said, it smells DELICIOUS and (more importantly) it does the job - my forehead and general t-zone are noticeably less oily since using this and I don't use primer any more before applying foundation! I don't think I'll be going back to Simple now I've found this!
The RRP for 100ml is £7.99 but I think I bought mine from Boots for less - maybe they had an offer on. Linky!

Fabulous Nails #10

It's been quite a while since I did a Fabulous Nails post, and this one has been waiting in draft form for weeks! So here's a little glimpse of some festive nails I had before Christmas time!
I absolutely love the lush deep red colour of this polish, which is Nails Inc 'hampstead heath'.
I think I got this free from Glamour magazine (which I subscribe to anyway!) so win-win! It stayed chip-free for a good few days and is just a lovely, versatile colour that you could wear for work or play!
Have you picked up any good freebies from magazines recently? Which is your favourite?

Christmas Presents #2

As promised, here's the second of my Christmas pressie posts! I have been truly spoilt rotten this Christmas and I am blessed to have such amazing people in my life that know me so well! There's a distinct baking/cooking theme to this post...!
Couple of perfect cooking/baking books from my bestie and my sis!
From my uncle, will save my wrists from whisking!
To replace my crappy £5 knives I've had since starting Uni, from my wonderful papa.
Gorgeous cups from assorted peeps; I love the Rob Ryan one from my boyfriend, its spot on!
Selection of yummy teas from my sister's girlfriend.
Needed some decent scales for years, thanks mum!
Cookie cutters and icing bag, also from mama bear..
As is this ridiculously cute pot of strawberry jam! Nom!
Giant cupcake cake tin and brick-shaped mould from my mum and sis!
How adorable is this bear-shaped cake tin? So excited to try it!
You probably don't know this about me but I'm a massive baker - I love trying new recipes and making baked goods for no reason. I'm considering starting a baking-orientated blog to run alongside Bee's Knees, what do you reckon? I'll probably only post every so often.. not sure!

Lush Jasmin & Henna Fluff Eaze

I popped into Lush just before Christmas to pick up some last minute presents, and walked out with a few bits for myself.. woops! Stay tuned for reviews of their lipbalm and solid perfume, but today I'm reviewing the Jasmin & Henna Fluff Eaze!
Since I cropped my hair super-pixie-short, I've had to blow dry and sometimes straighten it everyday! This is something I've never had to do before, having naturally curly hair, and my poor hair has been dried out and damaged as a result. I was keen to find a product to reverse this.. enter the Lush Fluff Eaze!
It's a conditioner that you slather all over your hair, leave on for 20mins and then wash off with shampoo in the shower. One tub costs £11.50 which I thought was a bit steep, but it did last 6 uses (on my very short hair). The consistency is very similar to yoghurt, but less gross and nicer smelling! And tbh it is the BEST conditioner I've ever used on my hair, it leaves it feeling soft, healthy and shiny and smells pretty damn good too! And on top of all that, its vegan! Perfect! I definitely recommend this product if you're looking to find some TLC for sad damaged locks! Linky!
Are you a Lush fan? What are your favourite products?

What a way to make a living

Here I am, as promised, back with the first post of 2012! After my little break I decided I should start out slowly and work myself back into the habit of posting. So my posts might not have much of a system or routine to them for a few weeks until I'm back in the habit..
To kick things off I thought I would share with you some work dresses I've bought in the past couple of weeks, both sale and non-sale!
This gorgeous deco dress is absolutely stunning on and fits like a glove! I love the pretty design and think it really makes me stand out. The fifties style skirt (a running theme in my work wardrobe as you'll soon realise!) is really full and girlie. Reduced to £25 from £42 from Dorothy Perkins I couldn't resist! Linky!
Also from Dorothy Perkins, I am smitten with this absolutely incredible green shift dress. The fit is perfect, its almost as if the dress was made for me, and again I think the striking colour is refreshing. It's made from a thick jersey material too so perfect for winter with some semi-sheer black tights! I can't remember how much this was but I think it was £17, a steal!
This dress (boring as it seems!) is a simple grey shift from Matalan, reduced from £18 to £9 in the sale. Although it doesn't look much, its actually really well fitted and the material feels luxurious!
Again with the fifties-style skirt, this grey shift from H&M was full price - but at £24.99 you can hardly complain! Fits like a dream and just the right length for work, I was overjoyed to find this beauty!
So overjoyed I had to have it in black too! Apologies for the poor photo quality, its been a ridiculously dark day today!
Have you made any investments for your work wardrobe recently? Do you prefer to wear dresses or trousers?

Seasons Greetings!

Hello lovely followers! I thought a post was necessary to explain my absence over the last few weeks..
My life has been somewhat upside down and I've been feeling inside out, but I've managed to put most things back together after feeling like everything was falling apart and I can confidently say that Bee's Knees will be back in the New Year and I will be posting weekly as usual again.
Thank you for your patience and for bearing with me, its been a tough few weeks but hopefully 2012 will bring a fresh start and much happiness!
Hope you all have a magical Christmas and see you in 2012!
